Overview
Control how your content appears when shared on social media and in search results. Set separate titles, descriptions, and images for Google Search, Open Graph (Facebook, LinkedIn), and Twitter/X — directly from the post editor.

Platforms build preview cards from meta tags when your content is shared or surfaced through search. Gregius Optimizer exposes control over these previews through three independent card profiles:
- Search Snippet (Google) — Title and description for Google search results
- Open Graph (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) — Title, description, and image for social sharing
- Twitter / X — Title, description, and image for Twitter Cards
Each platform profile carries independent overrides — optimize search snippets and social cards separately.
Technical Prerequisites & Blocks
- Gregius Optimizer plugin installed and activated
- Post types must support
custom-fieldsfor meta overrides - Image dimensions: OG images resize to 1200×630 px; Twitter prefers square or 2:1 ratio
Set a global fallback image
The Global Image is the platform-wide fallback — used when no card-specific image is assigned.
- Open any post or page in the Block Editor.
- Locate the Social Cards panel in the right sidebar.
- Click Settings to open the configuration modal.
- In the Global Image section, click the image area to open the media library.
- Select an image. A 150×150 px thumbnail preview appears.
- Use the kebab menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the image to Replace or Remove it.
How images are resolved per card
- Each card profile checks its own image first.
- If not set, it falls back to the post’s featured image
- If no featured image, it uses the Global Image
No cross-card cascade: each platform resolves its image independently.
Customize the Search Snippet (Google)
- Open the Social Cards modal.
- Review the live preview styled like a Google search result.
- The card displays a favicon and URL bar, an editable title (blue link text), and an editable description (gray text).
- Type directly into each field to override the snippet.
- Character counters below each field show your count against the recommended maximum: Title 60, Description 160.
Note: Setting a Google title also updates the page’s <title> tag, keeping search engine snippets and browser tabs consistent.
Customize Open Graph cards (Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Open the Social Cards modal.
- Review the live preview card with an image area, hostname label, title, and description.
- Click the image area to choose or replace the OG-specific image.
- Use the kebab menu (⋮) on the image to Replace or Remove.
- Type directly into the title and description fields.
Character limits: Title 55, Description 65.
Tip: Open Graph images render at 1200×630 px. Use images with this aspect ratio for optimal display.
Customize Twitter / X cards
- Open the Social Cards modal.
- Review the live preview card with an image area, domain label, title, and description.
- The card type is assigned automatically: Summary card (no image) or Summary large image (with image).
- Character limits: Title 70, Description 200.
Twitter image overrides are independent of OG — you can use different images for each platform.
Reset overrides
- Open the Social Cards modal.
- The Reset to defaults button becomes active when any overrides are set.
- Click it to clear all 9 override fields (Google, OG, Twitter titles/descriptions/images, plus Global Image).
Empty fields fall back automatically to post title, excerpt, and featured image.
